The Engineering Summer Institute (ESI) at Southern University seeks to expose students to career opportunities in science, technology, engineering, and mathematics (STEM) through its four-week summer program.
June 3 - June 28, 2019, from 8 a.m. to 5 p.m Monday through Friday.

Summer 2019 Registration
The goal of ESI is to broaden the access of students to STEM careers by exposing the participants
to available options in an environment that facilitates intellectual exchange, academic enrichment,
and fosters the learning, sharing, and growing processes. All applicants should have an interest in
engineering and technology. ESI offers the program for high school students.

Students must be promoted to grades 7 through 10 with a cumulative grade point average of at least
a 2.5 on a 4.0 scale are eligible. They must submit an official transcript, standardized test scores,
two (2) letter of recommendation from a current math and science teacher, and a 250 word essay.
There is a $350 non-refundable registration fee and the deadline to apply is May 1, or until slots
are filled.

Students will be provided lunch in the SU campus dining hall.
